  1. Looking good. Just wanted to mention that for drum sticks there's a rack that allows you stand them up. Might find it on Amazon. Is that green grass?
  2. When I received my KK a package of extras were included with it. One of those things included was a Stainless Steel dish 16 and 1/4in in diameter. Until yesterday the dish never found a purpose and just hung around my cooking station on a shelf. My recent purchase of a new Gateway Barrel cooker needed a diffuser over the fire, a purchase I was reluctant to order because of it's design. I found the holes extremely large and numerous on their version so I decided to make my own prototype and find a use for this piece. I drilled out approx 60 holes 1/2 in and 3/8 in following a simple pattern which would encompass the whole dish and distribute the heat slowly and evenly. Dennis included a heat deflector with our KK's that most people have set aside because of it's mass and now prefer to use foil. I'm hoping to use it in the KK as well.
  3. I know it's crazy. My wife started in the spare bedroom and filled bags of clothes she didn't want, then to the porch where alot of plates and kitchen equipment was to be shipped out. Next she's in my closet thinning out things I've only had for 10-20 years...you know treasure, you can't find those clothes anymore, irreplaceable items. This virus is worse than a curse. Why don't she throw out the rake? Toney, make more beer!
  4. Looks like bugs. What are u going to do with them?
  5. Some fantastic meals and cooks lighting up the screen here, I couldn't pick a winner. The only conclusion I could come to was, "Y'all got way too much time on your hands." You could be raking leaves...........better yet, you could be raking my leaves.
  6. Aw, c'mon give him just slice.
  7. Nice looking and a bark to like. What a great looking sandwich
  8. Brisket cooks are the best, go big for big results..nice. Looks a little tight on a 21, as long as it fits. No pic of the bark, oh what happened
  9. Tasty looking steaks, great job. Did the puppy get a taste?
  10. I second what Basher said. The wood I have treated in my backyard exposed to the elements has stood the test of time for now 5 years. Oil will darken the wood if that's a draw back but, longevity is the goal. Tacky when first applied and in a few days it dissipates.
  11. Basher, that's an usual fire pit, how thick is that metal? You certainly don't find one like that at the local hardware! I was thinkin, right along the rim you could attach some nice cup holders or clean it out and make a giant volcano drink with huge straws you know, one of those sharing drinks. When this all passes of course. That is an awesome look with all the rust
  12. They look great, a kind way to remember your neighbors. Any houses for sale on your street
  13. Looking at that again this time in the daylight with a magnifyer and my glasses on and a sobering eye I do see a small tack weld. I believe that to restrict any side to side movement, assist in stress. Regardless don't try to remove it without Dennis's input.
  14. Nice cook , text book on description, wonderful color.......smack on
  15. I haven't tried to work on my hinge because it works so well and closes as it should. If I ever did and approached this, I would look at it and assume because it is affixed with two nuts that it may detachable. I don't believe that is a weld on each side, it may be a solder and a sharp tool could snap that. The bottom catch is a piece made to move up and down for tightening the lid dome to the gasket for a better seal, not side to side for a hinge adjustment, it is fixed as I look at it , unless there may be a bit that allows the hole diameter to move a fracation within that setting to move side to side. That would mean an oversized hole, other than that those two posts are fixed. That slope in the pic shows the hinge off center, you can see a twist on the right, if it was working perfectly before, it shouldn't have changed unless altered. This is my hinge. Show the pics to Dennis as stated and I would imagine he would describe how to replace or fix the top hinge. You could drill out the holes on the catch assembly to slide left to right, for the 1/16 but that's a hack.
  16. It's a humongous beauty, think your gonna love it.
  17. Guess you had your MOJO workin for ya on that cook.
  18. No problem with that, taking advantage of that is within the rules, your helping people through some hard times, many businesses are becoming creative to stay afloat. Stock away Pequod, dig a root cellar for more room
  19. Pickled lamb tongues, I'm sure you can Google up a recipe Basher and then you'd have them in the frig as a snack every time you crack a beer. I remember growing up in a mixed ethnic oriented city and as a by product of that, this particular treat was always sitting on the shelf at your local watering hole with pickled pigs feet and eggs. I couldn't tell you which nationality had the greater propensity to be most attracted to these but, if I were inclined to decide they would be speaking French. So go ahead........who doesn't like a good pickle.
  20. Looking at the post that follows to your handle you can definitely see a slope from right to left. If it were me I'd take that latch off and correct it slightly in a vise, it appears your only off by 1/16. Definitely have Dennis see that, he may send you a new upper half. Did you move it or bump it? Regardless, easy fix
  21. Sounds a little bit like prohibition, before you know high speed boats will be running up and down the coast avoiding the coast guard and you'll be meeting with people in dark alleys buying the latest brew. Who woulda knew. You can always make your own, ask Toney for the recipe, although he guards it closely and it may be locked in his vault, under the circumstances I believe he would share
  22. One thing is the charcoal, last week I came home from the store with a 34LB bag and found when I opened it the small pieces you generally find on the bottom of the bag as being the common denominator throughout the whole bag. They were for the most part 1-2 inch pieces. So when you organize your basket take care to chose a mixture that will give you a good air flow otherwise climbing to temp may be slow.
  23. That's looking pretty nice, you must be thinking who lives here, I don't recognize this place. Non slip surface, how is it on bare feet?
  24. Is the plan to make flour from that? That would encompass a mill in there somewhere. Just curious.
