I got these old whatcha-ma-callits at a Salvation Army type store for about $80. I was thinking about making something but I couldn't buy the wood and hardware for that price. They work great on my porch and look fine with the logs. But they wouldn't last long in the elements.

Looks good. That's what I usually make my beef jerky out of because there is virtually no fat. I used london broil for the last batch because it was 2.18 a lb. I just let it dehydrate longer.

I don't know how Dennis can keep this up and continue to make money. I put in an order, he emailed me that it was shipped, I got the order. Hmmmm, he may be up to some shenanagans doing this kind of business. Always doing what he says he will do, always improving his product, always answering phone calls and emails...it just smells like he's got something up his sleeve all the time. Or...maybe he just really knows how to run a business!!!!!!!!!! It's only been about 5 years right, I'll give him 5 more years to screw up, otherwise I'll declare myself happy with the whole package.

Friday night a brisket goes on. Gonna do burnt ends with the brisket point (first time on the burnt ends). All I've ever read about them has been good. Saturday will be ribs.

Re: decided to go get the winch Absolutely! Oh,nevermind. I thought that "I" was an "e". Well, winches/wenches can be a lot of help around the house no matter how you spell them.

A friend had one of those $45-50 electric winches from Harbor frieght which really helped get mine on my back porch. I thought that the 2 of us would be able to get it up with those shoulder strap thingees, but he decided to go get the winch before we ever hurt ourselves.

Yes, I rest my case!
