  1. If you are cold smoking with it, put the entire unit inside the KK on the floor (take out the charcoal basket) and run the air hose through the vent door.
  2. Penzey's is my go-to for spices. I buy in bulk bags over the jars (way cheaper), then break it down into single ounce packets with the FoodSaver. If it's something that I use frequently, then I will open a pack and pour it into a shaker bottle. If it's something I only use periodically, FoodSaver makes re-sealable bags that use a special attachment that goes on the hose for them (there's also a rechargeable hand-held model). http://www.foodsaver.com/bags-and-rolls/choose-by-size/quart-bags-and-rolls/the-foodsaver-vacuum-zipper-quart-bags18-count/FSFRBZ0216-P00R.html?source=igodigital Here's the adapter if you have a model with the hose feature. http://www.foodsaver.com/accessories-and-parts/foodsaver-vacuum-zipper-bag-adapter/137207-000-000.html#start=1 Here's the hand held model. It's stand alone and rechargeable. A good option if you don't have a FoodSaver system. http://www.foodsaver.com/fresh-saver/the-foodsaver-freshsaver-red-handheld-vacuum-sealing-system/FSFRSH0053-000.html#start=1
  3. I can only talk about what deer around here will eat - Damn near EVERYTHING!! I gave up on hosta and roses a long time ago. At least they don't eat the hops off my plant. Oh, and don't forget the bunnies!! Maybe the foxes and coyotes by you will keep them at bay. I have owls and an occasional hawk in my neighborhood that seems to keep them in check. All my tomato plants, herbs, etc. are in pots on my elevated deck (about 7ft off the ground at the closest point. I just have to put chicken wire around the chile pepper plants, as my dog eats them! Seriously.
  4. It's hard to tell from the pic, but is that an oven under the burners on the left-hand side? Is that a warming tray on the right-hand side? While the main part of the grill wouldn't be used much (if at all), some of the other parts could come in very handy, especially if you entertain fairly large groups.
  5. Well done, Tony!! Can't wait to see the "kids" in their new home! Does the gasser still work? Is it a case of not having enough space for all 3 grills?
  6. Yes, more pictures of the final setup and the all important virgin cook! Well done on the move!
  7. Nicely done, AGAIN, MacKenzie!
  8. Next time, mix in a bit of honey, so you can call it Miso Honey Salmon! (Sorry, couldn't resist the pun!)
  9. For your first loaf, it looks really, really good! Nice crumb and beautiful color on the crust!
  10. I had a lot of steps to go up from my garage to my living room and out onto the deck. I built a ramp for it and the 5 of us pushed/pulled it up the ramp and rolled it out onto the deck. I took the top off to lighten the load and to keep it from being top heavy going up the ramp. It's not that difficult to take on and off, with a couple of folks (it's pretty heavy for one guy to carry). The top of the crate is a ramp for rolling the KK off the crate. Since you only have a couple of steps, this might be enough to do the trick for you? One thing in your post, you mentioned removing the firebox - DO NOT DO THAT!! It's not meant to be removed and you could severely damage it if you try.
  11. Break a leg, kid, in the Challenge!
  12. Bet you'll find them at Fresh Market. I was overjoyed when we got ours here. First one in Iowa. I shop there every week.
  13. A snake's a snake in my book, doesn't matter what variety!!
  14. Nice bird, MacKenzie and great use of the leftovers in the sammie! Haven't shirred eggs in a very long time. May give it a go this weekend?
  15. Sounds and looks super tasty! But, I'm on board with the others - the snake's gotta go!
  16. If your store carries them, they will be with the better/gourmet cheeses and not with the prepackaged slices and blocks. I have several stores here where I can get them, including my standard supermarket. MacKenzie posted a nice photo of cheese curds, so you know what they look like.
  17. Well done, Bosco! Serious looking fatty to start with and then to encase it like a calzone - brilliant! Using this opportunity to practice the new "drag & drop" feature for posting pics. Saah-wheeet!
  18. Yes, you do, Charles. The curds shouldn't be too hard to find.

  20. HURRAY! Fingers crossed for you, man!
  21. Excellent idea, Charles! Will definitely be trying this one in the future.
  22. Nice job, Susan! Break a leg, kid, in the Challenge!
