bryan Posted June 26, 2015 Report Posted June 26, 2015 Amen!! Should we start a program send emails to the local authorites?
howardjoyce Posted June 27, 2015 Author Report Posted June 27, 2015 No news from the Palm Springs Police today and the advertisement on Craigslist got pulled. Will let you all know if something develops next week.
Cookie Posted June 27, 2015 Report Posted June 27, 2015 The advert had a phone number to call, seems to me it shouldn't be too hard for the police to track down the phone / person???
DennisLinkletter Posted June 27, 2015 Report Posted June 27, 2015 I have remotely activated his KK's flashback recovery alert system.. First time he takes the grill to high temps, the damper top will spin closed, front draft door will also close and after 8 minutes the grill's latch will open creating a huge flashback that will be picked up by infrared sensors in our satellites that will send exact coordinates to the local popo.. His goose will be well cooked! 3
tinyfish Posted June 27, 2015 Report Posted June 27, 2015 Packed full of hidden features...take that BGE/KJ.
CeramicChef Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 Absolutely priceless, Dennis. And again, now I know why I paid the big bucks for uncompromised excellence! Flashback recovery alert system! LOL!
howardjoyce Posted July 3, 2015 Author Report Posted July 3, 2015 Fortunately, Dennis will not have to activate the flashback recovery alert system. Received a call yesterday afternoon from the Palm Springs Police that "Tatay" had been found. The police were kind enough to deliver directly to my house in PS later that afternoon. Other than a broken wheel caster and a 1/2 layer of dust, Tatay looks to be none the worse for wear. My 8 yr old son was in tears when the grill was stolen...over the moon now that we have Tatay back home. Love storybook endings.... Big thanks to Wilbur for spotting the craigslist posting and Dennis for his amazing forensic photo analysis skills and vigilance in tracking me down. And of course...thanks to all for the empathy/suggestions/good wishes through this ordeal. Howard 1
MacKenzie Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Howard, that is a fantastic ending and I'm so happy for your son :) Thanks for letting us know, I've been wondering what happened.
bryan Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Who said there's no Santa? Mark one up for the good guys.
tony b Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 HURRAY!!! Awesome news! Please post some pics of Tatay back home and his (her?) first cook!!
ckreef Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Really great ending to what could have been a crappy story. Love to see it in action.
wilburpan Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Glad I could help! I’m so happy that you got your grill back.
LK BBQ Posted July 4, 2015 Report Posted July 4, 2015 Wow. This is an AWESOME community. Way to go, wilburpan and Dennis!
normstar Posted July 4, 2015 Report Posted July 4, 2015 What a great story! I'm sorry I missed this, I'm in Palm Springs several times a month for work. Would have helped any way I could. Where are you at in the desert Howard? I go to Eisenhower hospital quite frequently, and stay at the new Ritz whenever I can get a rare below my expense budget. Very happy you got your grill back!!'
