Here is the first casting in simple portland to use as our "fitting" prototype.. It's awesome in person and will redefine what's possible in a Kamado grill.

The grates will be in two pieces and have alignment pins in them. It will have a much larger latch. It will have sleeves for large bolts on the lid sides so removable side handles can be added to the lid so the lid can more easily be handled.  It will have two 23" Ultimate based hinges with common rod and top and bottom straps.  And will have a huge roti cradle for BIG Piggies!  Whatcha think?

So super excited about this new design. Not to be morbid, but seeing how easily Dennis fits in side there I think he could open a new market segment, by selling a solid black mortician's cremation model. :-D

I like the idea of a huge roti cradle. That in and of itself should be a big selling point for restaurants, groups, etc. — not to mention those of us who just want the biggest and the best.

I think......................Keep the production advancements coming.................still shooting for summer 2017!!!!!

We will have a fully functional 42 in the factory next month... We only need to work out the grate situation. One large grate is too heavy and unmanageable.

Where does the motor for the automatic lift mount?

I can't imagine the lid not feeling weightless just like the other KK's.  The hinge assembly is two 23" Ultimate hinges with huge common bolt plates and rod.  We'll try a few different springs until we get the feel we want.

In addition to the "Mortician's" model, he could have a pure white model for saints like me!

Of course it'll feel weightless, I would expect nothing else. Don't you think though, that it's time you introduced an electrical device to something that has an open flame on the inside?

I need that. Do you think my wife will notice if I sell the house to buy it? And if so, do you think she'll care or will she be all like "no, no, no. I TOTALLY get it...because I know you love your grills and I support that. We can just live in the car." ;-)
