  1. Trying to find a good local deal (charcoal cost a fortune here by the bag and...... all we seem to have is briquettes... ). I don't even want to think how much it would cost me to ship a pallet from the US to Oz!!!
  2. Just curious how much would you pay for a pallet of charcoal??
  3. I reckon I'm in with a chance of getting the first set (in the wild anyway)! Since i'ts going to get shipped with my KK it should hit Oz before the next shipment goes to the US (right Dennis?)
  4. I must have overdone the shiraz ..... Since the table on the right AND the motor are in the same location I had to ask the question right??? BTW I'm in my room!!!
  5. Woohoo, sounds like I'm getting some unexpected extra toys! Dennis is the price known and are they the stainless steel ones or wood or tiled or ??
  6. I found it, hilarious (wonder if it will stay up there, especially since a competitor is mentioned?). Good 'ol Steve (only 3 posts on the K forum since 2001??) very helpful I personally used his EZ-que advise and used his potatoes recipe.
  7. Welcome on board, I really envy you since my cooker is not even completed (let alone being shipped). Hope to see some of your pictures (especially on how you get it in place? )
  8. Hi, the guru people told me the inducer tube was 20 US$ and shipping 8 US$ (not bad to the land Down-Under). I just ordered via email with my shipping details and am now awaiting confirmation whether this was the correct way of ordering since as you said it's not listed on their website.
  9. Maybe, but if I were a betting man, the money would be on your KK's. Australian customs are at times a pain in the behind! Anyway at least I know that 1 KK made it into Oz last year...so I'll be number 2 (I try harder!). We'll see, as soon as Dennis send me the pictures of my boy all bundled up I'll post them!
  10. A knife, a fork, a bottle and a cork!
  11. Do you consider the side tables new design?? Oops...you're already using an outdated model! Dennis please include one in my shipment (yeah I know I know they're not ready yet) , ummm does the rotisserie fit with side tables?
  12. I stand corrected: AND KK has a lively, informative, helpful forum community with some very active participants. The BGE crowd have a good forum as well with lots of tips/info though structure is a bit lacking; just a pagelist of entries (I won't mention the "my-way-or-the-highway" site).
  13. Hi Dennis, Since I ordered my KK I have gone back to my initial ceramic research sites: BGE, Kamado and also looked at the link on the Nakedwhiz's site for the Grill Dome. I must say I'm very glad I found your site, the KK might be more expensive but you get value and quality for your money! Can't wait to cook and enjoy the great food that you can get using a ceramic cooker! Keep up the great work (and keep those accessories and mods coming!)
  14. Dang, and I had high hopes to get my KK before Jasen (I procrastinated just a bit too long) on the other hand had I ordered sooner the Gen 2 wouldn't have been around! Love my KK...
  15. Oops, I meant yours and Jasen's!! Mine is not ready to be shipped just yet....(i.e. not finished!) And yup different boats I would think...........
  16. I reckon you're right since the WSM port is "sticking out" as well. Hmm, might use the mail address on the guru site to shotgun fred himself see if that gets a response...(really want to use my guru with my KK). Thanks for you suggestions though, much appreciated and I will ask one of my more technical mates to suggest a shop that could build it? BTW I just received a guru email so I'm in contact and will hopefully order the inducer this weekend (I'll have all my toys before the KK arrives!!!!) Update: I initially used the info@guru address (no reply) and subsequently the sales@guru address they answered promptly/efficiently, anyway the inducer is now ordered!
  17. Um, I'm fairly a-technical (I know IT but have little knowledge regarding "building" gizmos). I understand that the guru tube fits very snugly (since Dennis has built it for the guru size) so wanted to just order that. Otherwise I have to wait for my KK to arrive and measure the guru port and get a tube made to fir my guru...sounds a bit complicated to me??? Hmm now that I'm thinking about it how come the KK needs an inducer tube to fit the guru? (i.e. how come the diameter of the port doesn't just accomodate the guru fan????); <== silly question???
  18. How did your ordering with the guru people go? I've been asking them for the last week for a quote for the inducer tube (ship to Australia) but so far no reply... The guru is great and really keeps the temps at the correct level; which one did you get?
  19. My 2 AU$ cents: Have very rarely used the ramp feature with my Smokey Weber but do love the fact I can leave the BBQ unattended for long slow cooks. Would definitely recommend getting a guru (or stoker? especially if you have multiple BBQ's) to go with a KK although others (Porkchop?) will likely disagree since the KK can apparently hold temps on it's own.
  20. Great music! Lacks an s though.... What do you think the Gen 5 will look like? Given the progress the KK's have made in one generation.......all I can say is WOW!!!
  21. Great pictures, I think mine is a bit younger than the ones you guys got.. Are both of them in the same consignment on the same ship? I'm bugging Dennis for pictures but reckon mine is still in the building stage...
  22. I was going to do that, but worried over the heat were you attached the push button (as it would really need to attach to the door for best looks and function). Here is a link to the simple igniter I use. http://www.campingsurvival.com/evspar17ig.html -=Jasen=- Hmm, food for thought, I do understand that I can "slide" the gas gizmo out and light but feel it's easier to light it using a long igniter.. See if I can source it here in Oz since the shipping costs from the states are getting a bit out of hand (more than 100 dollars just to getting some of my "need-to-have" KK stuff over here)...
  23. Good question though (since he's a Gen2) who were momma and poppa? One of them must have been a supreme ?
  24. Jasen, did you end up getting the gas gizmo? If so how do you light it (when it's permanently attached via the back port)
  25. Re: My turn for ribs! Where did you get the rib rack, I got a weber one but it definitely looks smaller. I'll make pictures of ozzie ribs they look smaller to (maybe our butchers cut them differently?). They really look good though, the guys/girls in your office are very lucky!
