  1. That looks awesome, bit of a delay on my order for a KK... Wish I could be cooking on one here, although the smoke mght be an issue on some days (we have frequent total fireban's here in Sydney....oops)
  2. I reckon it's going to be in the middle of the night (US timezones) and the Ozzies will get the 10,000th post! Not that we're competitive or anything...
  3. I know, there was a couple of days 2 weeks ago that it picked up... Wonder if everyone is awaiting the new 2007 line-up/price from Dennis, that should keep the forum peeps busy... Or maybe everyone got snowed in? We're going to the beach tomorrow so.... I reckon we should get post 10,000 in about 2 months?
  4. Since we're coming up to the magic 10,000th post. Any guesses who and when the no 10,000 post will be added? Weeks away?
  5. I have electricity in my outdoors area as well but was a bit worried about ordering a US transformer (110 and we use 240)... I had to replace the one that came with my guru with a local one...

Porkchop bist du einen Nena fan??? DJ porkchop is only saying good things about you, no worries... Although I doubt that you'd be happy with just a little bit (to drink) 99 bottles of dark beer on the wall 99 bottles of dark beer.....
  7. Sorry for the late reply, I was out of State for a few days (relaxing in up in Queensland). Thanks for the vote of confidence (hero-worshiping..I'm not worthy!) Anyway I used to drink bourbon in my younger years however am more of a single malt drinker now (maybe we can't get the decent bourbon's here?)
  8. That looks great I'll definitely have to get me one of those... did you get the battery powered one or the power-pack? (did you notice whether the power-pack can handle 110V-240V?? Keep those pics coming! I'll live vicariously through the other KK owners for now!!
  9. Can't speak for Curly but i'm going for either blue or black tiled! The copper did look excellent...
  10. Yeeha? I've only been up North (NY) and on the West Coast in my travels to the states. Next one is maybe Hawaii or Alaska... Haven't been to any of the Southern States yet....
  11. I guess you're not familiar with this site? http://flourish.org/upsidedownmap/
  12. Umm, my wife is a great cook (is that a bad thing?) and my sister-in-law is "normal" (well as far as in-laws go). Deej, what's the go with Hephzibah ("hehe"?; can't quote yet (too lazy to find out how; can't be too hard but....)?
  13. Love the photo's and I'm really picking up some good tips here!!! Now if only I had a KK to cook them on (not yet)
  14. I should have been more specific (too lazy to type it) Find a nice rub, seasoning, marinade and get your sous chef to make it (i.e. the lovely wife!). Is my standing in the society of the lazy brethren restored?
  15. Hi Deej, I'll try this since my wife like her steaks medium but really doesn't like any blood.. I on the under hand like my steak still mooing! Doesn't the flavor of the meat change by keeping it in the fridge for an additional 3-4 days? I usually buy my steaks from the butcher and eat it the same day?
  16. Hi Dennis, any photo's of current stock in indo-land (terima kasi).
  17. Granted we have a limited amount of BBQ seasonings on the supermarket shelves but isn't it "better" to make your own (get a recipe and adjust as necessary to your own taste? PS No Dale seasoning in Sydney PPS Joe did you get my PM's?

If I ever BBQ kangaroo (unlikely) I'll port the recipe. But I will definitely cook the Lamb and post (umm still don't have my KK!). BTW If you BBQ roadkill come on over to Oz lot's of dead possum's on the side of the road!

    Leg of Lamb

Has anyone tried a leg of lamb? I've seen various recipes in my BBQ books (and they suggest 30-45 min per pound) However they forgot to specify the cooking temp... (300?) I do have a guru so cooking it to a certain temp won't be an issue, but I'd like to know roughly how long it will take? PS The reason I won't to know exactly how long it takes is because I also want to cook come chooks at the same time.

Thanks, I forgot about the recipes only bit! I'll ask away in another post!

    New Section

Hi DJ, can you setup a section with "other meat"? I have a lamb question but feel it fits in an "other meat" section (if we had one) instead of the "everything else" section? Baah Baah
  22. Thanks I'm having a barbie next week so will try this as my potato side dish! (extra garlic!). Will let you know how it goes
  23. Great pictures... I better not show that picture to my cats or they might want the same privilege!! Looked like great chicken! (did you do the taters on the KK as well?)
