  1. Great choice of grills and accessories. I love that color Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  2. I just now tried the link and it works for me so not sure what's up with that. Removing the dome and/or changing the spring tension does not change how the dome sits on the base. If you remove the dome and put it back on the dome will sit in the exact same position as when you started. With the dome closed and latched in the second position check the gap between the dome and the base all around. The gap should be uniform and the dome should be aligned equal left to right also. 3. Well I did want to get there before lunch was severed - priorities man - LOL Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  4. I don't know about that, very stressful. It's one thing to cart around my motorcycle, it's paid for and if something happened it's just my loss. A whole other thing carting around someone else's high dollar grill. I will say that is a really smooth riding trailer. I've done 85 mph with the motorcycle on board with zero wobble. I was only willing to do 70 mph with the KK on board. I was just really paranoid. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  5. Congratulations. Can't wait to see some pictures. Lots of new KK owners coming on board. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT

  8. There is one more picture that needs to be shared. Yup a very nerve wracking drive. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  9. This was the first time I had ever seen a KJ other than at a store. I was really surprised at how hot it was. Even when fully heat soaked for 2 or 3 hours in the 550* pizza range my KK's dome never felt that hot. I just didn't realize all this since I went from an Akorn to a KK. Of course I had to play with the KJ dome just to realize what I wasn't missing - LOL Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  10. TY Jon, I'm getting better with my point and shoot. One day I'm going to get a better camera with interchangeable lens. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  11. Took me about 2 minutes thinking about this and now a few more ingredients made it onto the shopping list. I'm thinking shrimp. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  12. Great looking cook. Chicken, lamb, shrimp ..... Many possibilities. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  13. No worries it will be an easy fix. Like I said, you can't permanently damage them. I'm just relieved it made the trip. A very nerve wracking drive. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  14. Most excellent. Going to try this soon. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  15. I was going to do a club sandwich but you beat me to the punch. Next I was thinking about trying a triple layer BBQ sandwich with pulled pork, pulled chicken, and beef (either pulled or brisket). I went so far as cooking the pork and chicken but in the end didn't like that idea. Then when I saw MacKenzie's egg in tomato sauce cook I knew where this was going. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  16. TY MacKenzie - I'm a quick learner after my first failed attempt at a runny yolk. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  17. TY Rak, the egg in tomato sauce is yummy. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  18. TY tinyfish, coming up with a good idea was the hardest part of this challenge. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  19. This was actually caused by the dome slightly tilted and then sort of dragged across the surface it was sitting on about an inch or two. It's not a big split of the groute and the tiles and grout jacket remained intact. Would fresh groute pushed up in there fix this? My other thought was a JB Weld type fix like I did on mine. It is much less of a situation then I had. I have an extra small tube of black groute since I own two KK's. I was going to send him one of those as shipping from my house will only take a day or two and cost next to nothing. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  20. Welcome, if you are here there is probably no turning back now. I hope what I sent you in the pm reply helps a little. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  21. Italian seasoned, beef tenderloin with eggs cooked in Italian, fire roasted tomatoes served on Italian bread French toast style. Ingredients Onions, peppers and garlic. Add and simmer tomatoes and 2 Tbsp paste. French toast Italian bread, CI @ 350* on Cassiopeia (19" KK) Beef tenderloin and mozzarella cheese, CI @ 450* on Prometheus (16.5" KK) Cooking the eggs in the Italian tomatoe sauce. A few final pictures. A breakfast sandwich eaten for dinner - LOL Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  22. Great looking burger - yummy. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  23. The cooking temp is going to be the biggest factor in how long it takes to cook not the actual lbs of shoulder. An elevated temp (275*-300*) will power through the stall and should cook a shoulder considerably faster than 225*. The end results are just as good and if it finishes early It can always rest in a cooler. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  24. 1/4 turn on top and 1/8" on bottom, fire won't go out. Just let it ride. Nothing wrong with 280*. Might finish a little early, just wrap in foil and then a towel and into a cooler until dinner time. Better that then finishing two hours late. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
  25. All these great sandwich posts lately. Sure glad you all are not posting in the Guru challenge. A few of us would be fighting to survive. Charles - Prometheus 16.5", Cassiopeia 19" TT
