  1. PJ, great cook, that chicken is making my mouth water.
  2. PJ, I had 2 wired haired terriers. I saw one grab a rat by the neck, she gave it a quick shake of her head and it was all over for the rat. I couldn't believe my eyes. My little Muffie would/could do that!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I tried with the ribs but it didn't work, stay tuned;) I'm sure I'll get there.
  4. Thanks, tinyfish, it's not just your eyes:)
  5. Memphis style ribs - I guess that is what I did, I just didn't know that is what that technique is called. My cook is done and my grates are clean as a whistle:)
  6. Baby back ribs are the first cook of the day but it was just a glorious morning that I took some yard pixs about 7:30 so the light is very yellow:) Since getting the KK I have had a rough out door kitchen built so that come this winter I'll be grilling comfort. For the past 2 weeks I have been doing the finishing of the ODK, deck and sunroom which was stripped and sanded. It was my job to sand the sunroom to get rid of the felt left by power washing and then to put the new finish on. I am so glad to have just finished it all today and the paint brush went into the garbage along with my staining clothes. I am so thankful it is all over. Come winter when the snow flies I'll be here snug as a bug watching the birds and squirrels. A monster sun flower. Now that I've taken the pixs and fed the critters it's time to start Pebbles for the first rib cook. Baby back ribs on Pebbles. About 5.5 hrs at 225F and I'm calling done. The meat was tender, moist with some bite. Rib slices - Plated. They were actually more moist than they appear in these shots. Now I'm on to the next cook, sour dough bread;)
  7. Gorgeous, I love that colour. But then why wouldn't I? It is the same as I picked:) It is nice to see that your new KK is safe and sound.
  8. What a relief. I'm so glad your KK is safely on the ground .
  9. Thanks everyone:) No cheese burgers tomorrow because I'm doing a rib cook to see if I can mess up my grates.
  10. I'm seeing a Dinky toy KK about to appear;) or even worse it may turn into a pair of socks;(
  11. Bad news, I bought ribs so I could do a messy cook, then went to the brew store and no PBW:(
  12. tony, that is an absolutely stunning picture of Guinness!
  13. Don't let that grill tilt! If you do you'd better have lots and lots of muscle to stop it going where you don't want it to go.
  14. Needed these for a while and tonight was the night to make them. Here they are ready for the KK. On the grill at 350F for 15-18 mins. Baked and one thing I know with the KK baking stone the bottom crust will turn out perfect. I don't even have to check. Top is done the bottom will be perfect.
  15. PJ, a friend of mine is a partner in a micro brewery. He is the master brewer and makes awesome beer. I get it when ever I can which isn't that often since he's 200 miles away, 400 miles return trip. The best Guinness beer I have had was actually at the Guinness brewery in Dublin. I could drink that at breakfast, lunch and supper;)
  16. Thanks for that tip, Poochie:)
  17. kjs, niiiiiice meal. Fresh corn, I would eat an entire meal of that alone and have many a time. The pineapple I still need to try on the KK.
  18. Poochie, what a great exciting time you are going to have.
  19. tony, thanks for that tip again. I'm going to check out the local brew store to see if they carry it.
  20. I've used that curly kate stainless steel scrubber and then washed it off with hot water and a rub with a cloth. Just wait though I haven't done any of those really messy cooks yet and I haven't let any of the gunk pile up either. My time is coming:) I wonder if these would be a good option providing that none of the links come off and get into the food. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=chainnail+scrubber I just ordered one and should have it next Wed. Stay tuned for the review;)
  21. Tony, I had heard that about the wire brushes but not about the curly kate thing. I cleaned with it and then washed it off under the tap and went over it with a dish cloth. I will be careful:) Thanks.
