I'm interested, anyone in the Greenville SC area
-
Yeah, that's the stuff I got to repair my broken replacement firebox-thingee. I thought it was a magic powder, but turned out to be an already mixed gooey stuff. I will admit it went on easy and seemed to make the broken firebox a one-unit thing again. Maybe you could get some and try to put humpty back together again

Seems to be a common story with K's. Wonder if they send duct tape and the correct size hose clamp as part of their package

Good questions Firemonkey?
-
I think I'll go hotter next time. That dark look is better than the look I had on my slower cook. Although mine were plenty good, I still want to try that LOOK.

A new convert...welcome Firemonkey. Slowly their eyes are opening. First one by one, then by droves.

What's on the menu for this week-end people? -
I love some of the Klose pits and the theme's. Saw a Pistol (I think waw a Klose) one time. I'd love to see a page full of Theme cookers. Hey, that's the reality show of the future, the father and son who yell at each other as they design and build the theme Pits

congrats...Dennis will surely send you the grills to demo now

I deleted the r&d post myself so that people didn't think Dennis was policing us to bad here. How about this. Dennis, this could come in handy for those overnight cooks. Maybe we could get this on the OTB, it really is outta the box.

If it falls take a lot of pics, it'll look like Gerards did after he demo'd it
-
Yeah, I was thinking of something else. A little chief smoker or something.

I've always done my babybacks for about 6 hrs too. And in the 225 range. They've never been over done.

Oh man, I can taste fried baloney right now I may have one for supper

I'll be dang, I've had a RibMonkey all these years and never even knew it. Please don't tell my wife I called her a Rib Monkey. -
Yeah, I'd like to see pics of that, I thought about getting one before just for my beef jerky cooks.
-
You sold it After all of the bad press those dudes have gotten, you sold it
-
Wow, you went out at lunch and got drunk again didn't you?
-
TNW, I think Dennis should give you an OTB and a Classic so that you could put the 2 cookers through sid-by-side testing on ribs, pork butts, pizza, etc. I really want to find out if the OTB performs better because of the top damper being set back off center like it is. Not sure I'd pay that much extra to get the off kilter look UNLESS it had a TNW approval rating of 4.75 or better Course you would have to send them both back after all of the testing was done, unless you can keep coming up with more needed tests that really need to be run. Which I doubt will be much of a problem given the fact that you are The Naked Whiz

Well, I have no buyers yet, and I'm glad cause I have no KK yet. I would rather have 2 for a while than 0 for a while.

When I got my new firebox it was cracked in more pieces than the old one, but at least they use chicken wire now (or something) so that it was not literally in pieces. When I sent pics of the "just recieved" broken firebox, I was told that the magic powder was on the way that will fix the NEW broken firebox. I got the magic powder but haven't put it on yet. I may do that this week if I can make myself not cook one night

I guess maybe I'm to old, cause I completely missed it

Did you sell your K yet?

Yeah, it's kinda different over here, I think people really DO know that this place is not like the other place. It's true that there aren't oodles and oodles of these cookers out there that have been cooking for years and years, but the other place does have oodles and oodles, so that, in itself isn't a Green flag to write the check. But here's a few differences I've noticed about the way Dennis does business. 1. Dennis has worked with me by phone to help me figure out how I can get a cooker (since I'm strapped financially). I may be getting one that was damaged by shipping, at a discount because I'll be doing some work on it. And I don't pay unless I can fix it to my satisfaction. 2. Dennis has a successful business with a good track record. 3. Dennis has sent new cookers to people when their's were damaged...just to use til they got the new one. And taken a financial hit in the process....just to keep the customer happy. 4. Dennis has made more improvements on an already really good product (in 2 years) than was made in the product since the early 60's, or whenever RJ started making them in Japan to begin with. None of these are proof that this business will be around to make good the LIFE TIME warranty, but there's never gonna be a way to know that's gonna happen. We all know that the K is a good product that should last for many many years, and I believe that the new improved KK should even out do that. We've seen where Dennis has already made good on warrenties and replaced things that weren't even warrentied...without a big forum fight to get it done. Anyway, it always takes faith to be able to write a large check for any car, house, or product of any kind. Nobodies gonna blame anyone for waiting around a few years until this forum gets full and there are KK cookers all over to be viewed in person. I feel like I have the peace of mind that warrents the trust in Dennis already...hey, but I've been wrong before so don't go by my peace of mind. Wait until you get yours.
