I'm greedy.  I want the ribs, the drinks AND the pictures of the ODK.  Really nice looking set up @Steve M!  :smt016

Thanks Tekobo. I'll post some better pics as things progress.

Keep those pixs coming, Steve. :) It sure looks exciting.:smt060

We are pretty excited. I was hoping to have it finished up in August but it went nearly twice as long as expected. The kitchen island is the last phase; just in time for winter.

Pretty slow day on the everyday cooking thread. How about some rib pics from the weekend?

And this next one isn't technically "everyday cooking" but it happens often enough.

Some pretty exciting things are happening around the SteveM household too. New home for the kk

Cured and smoked a pork belly, 1/2 for my carpenter and 1/2 for me. Did a couple of hours of cold smoke using the cold smoker then moved things over to the bigger KK and hot smoked then until the IT was 145F. We will slice the slabs up tomorrow.

That is going to be some tasty bacon. It is on my short list to do another slab soon.

Just finished slicing, vacuum sealing and putting the bacon into the freezer. Did a small taste test and maybe I should rethink about giving any of this batch away, just kidding. The carpenter is coming this evening to fetch his bacon.

I just heated up a very small piece and it was pretty darn good. I'll take a pix the next time I cook some up. :)

This was a meatless rib dinner, can't believe the lack of meat on these ribs, that's what happens when you buy a grab bag.

At least the Punjabi Style Beetroot was good, it's a recipe that started from tekobo. :)

Yesterday I made another side dish using a recipe tekobo sent me. Roasted Tomatoes and Marinated Roasted Peppers.

Mixed the two together.

I will have it with dinner tomorrow. :)

Looking good @MacKenzie.  I have been meaning to post the recipe but am onto my third go at trying it out different variations.  Just picked some peppers today and will see how this try goes before posting.

My marathon cook post last Sunday ended with my "after party" cook of roasted beetroot, celeriac and slow cooked lamb shank.

This weekend I reduced the stock that the lamb shanks were cooked in and added the shredded lamb shank meat

That would have been tasty enough on its own but it came out great with giant couscous and pomegranate seeds.  Best of all the pomegranate came from a friend's garden at her house in Greece.  Happiness all round.  The recipe is here: http://www.foodthinkers.com/slow-cooked-lamb-shank-and-giant-couscous-salad/   Heston got more height into his presentation.  Hey, who cares?  It tasted great.
