ckreef
Now that my son is off to college me and Mrs skreef eat lite meals for dinner these days. This was one of those lite meals. Was just winging it a bit last night. Shrimp and Basil Bruschetta. Accompanied by French Onion Soup. I've made Bruschetta a few times in the past but this was definitely my best so far. Will have to make some more soon and post it as a recipe. Just a few ending pictures.

MacKenzie
Some no cook treats this morning, ground cherries. I gathered these up this morning on my early rounds of the garden.

MacKenzie
They are sweet when ripe and sort of mild tasting. They only look like cherries they do not taste as cherries nor are they as strong tasting. Very easy to grow, they pop up every year and they grow on a plant not a tree. MacKenzie
Another very special breakfast today, I am on a roll. Smoked peach jam made by our own ckreef. This jam is made from KK roasted peaches and as soon as you open the jar you get a wonderful peach smell. Beautiful colour and nice size peach chunks. Extra tasty jam. Special breakfast is plated for this pix. Back on the griddle and a little flip and plated for the final time. I just had to turn this into a ck egg. Thanks again for the wonderful tastes. Awesome looking breakfast. I'm really glad you're enjoying the Reef Jams. It makes me smile I knew you would appreciate them for the effort that goes into making jam. I'll be honest I'm looking forward to next spring so I can improve the Reef Jams just a little more. Stay tuned.
Pequod
Papa Del's inspired (NOT Chicago style) deep dish. A little more work to do on the crust, but the sauce is now spot on.

Chicago style is biscuit like crust with uncooked sauce. Papa Del's is a much thicker bread-like crust with a cooked sauce and roughly double the toppings. 1
MacKenzie
Nothing new here today but I did do another sour dough loaf of bread with toasted sunflower and pumpkin seeds. I used the Digi Q again it just works so well to get the whole KK to 450F.
MacKenzie
Start up the little KK to grill some Halloumi cheese for lunch. Done, doesn't take too long. The cheese was to go with a chicken thigh sandwich. The thighs were grilled the other day and I also made a fresh batch of sauerkraut salad. Just look at the nooks and grannies of this store bought bread.

MacKenzie
Thanks, Tony, it is pretty tasty and salty so it leaves you thirty. I guess that's what beer is for. I'm visiting my brew-master friend tomorrow, that should be tasty. Edited September 8, 2017 by MacKenzie
