bosco
Well, I wanted to do this before my vacation and I couldn't get it done in time so I was a little late to the dance. Anyways here is my January Challenge. I started with portobello mushrooms and rinsed them and loaded them up with Lanes sweet heat and brisket rub to give it a beef like rub flavour. Let me just tell you that Lanes BBQ rub is the real deal!! I can't get enough of this stuff!! After rubbing them down, I diced up some fresh jalapeño and slathered them with bold BBQ sauce I had to cook some chicken and pork so I had the grill up to 375. After cooking and cleaning the grill to make this a legit vegetable cook, I added some peach smoking wood and smoked some non pork vegetarian beans for 1.5 hours. I then smoked the shrooms for approximately 20 minutes. Once they were cooked, I added some low fat swiss cheese which also took in some nice smoke flavour. brought them in and plated them with the beans
tinyfish
That is one fine burger even though it's missing the meat. That should do really well.
MacKenzie
That burger wouldn't last long at my house I can tell you. Yummy.
tony b
See, Charles, this is what I was talking about. Those pictures are stunning! I could never replicate that. You and MacKenzie are amazing photographers, besides being outstanding cooks. All my skills stay in the kitchen!

PRippley
Looks awesome Bosco, thanks for the details. Tony, I feel your pain with the photography. I am always in the dark with greasy fingers holding an IPhone trying to get a shot while someone is waiting at the table, knife and fork in hand...no good for pictures!😖 I know TMI...sorry! tony b
My story in a nutshell, PRippley. Most of my better cooks are for guests and I don't want to keep them waiting while I stage "food porn" for the Forum. I love you guys, but ... ckreef
Nice looking veggie burger. I hear what you all are saying about taking the food porn. It took my family (mostly my son) a good long time to quit complaining about the food porn. Now he realizes the complaining doesn't get him anywhere so he just rolls with it. As for the picture quality that just comes with practice. I look at my pictures from a year or two ago and realize how bad they sucked.
