THE JOURNEY BEGINS

Hello all! Been following this forum for a very long time. I owned a BGE for several years and had the misfortune of my barn burning down a little over a year ago. To this day I do not know exactly what happened but the insurance company seems to be sure it was started from my egg which was cradled in a wood table. We love to cook pizza and used to do a lot of high temp cooks which I believe led to the degradation of the wood which eventually lowered the flash point and started the fire while we were asleep. Thankfully someone passing by rang our doorbell at 1:00 in the morning which ultimately saved our house from burning as well. With all that being said, I started doing some research into kamoda style cookers and stumbled across the KK. I very quickly saw how well it was designed and saw how it made up for my last grills shortcomings. I have been back and forth with Dennis the last couple of weeks and he has been a great help. (Super nice guy!) I have decided on a BB 32 with pretty much all the accessories in gold and olive pebble along with a teak cabinet for each side of the KK. Very much looking forward to being part of this community!!

The BB32 is an excellent choice. And the olive & gold version has been proven to be superior in all ways to the rest. Great choice and welcome aboard! Let us know how we can help.

I’m sure you’ve heard comments about how you can’t imagine how nice these grills are, well, I’m gonna say the same thing. Particularly since you’re used to a bge, the kk is absolutely going to blow you away! Congrats, and arrival, unpacking pics are required.

Welcome to the Obsession. You will find very quickly that the KK outshines the BGE in everyway possible. Your cooking is about to take a quantum leap forward! And, as is customary here, pictures of the uncrating and virgin cook, please!

Welcome.  Look forward to making friends with your new KK.  It is a unique experience.  They are easy to get into, with lots of options to explore over time.

Thanks for the warm welcoming! It's going to be a very long next 6-8 days waiting for that truck to pull up. I think i have read every possible article and watched every available video on these cookers.(probably multiple times, lol)

Been following this forum for over a year which has probably educated me the most!

Thanks

Welcome to the KK Family.  You are going to enjoy your new KK.  You made the right choice in getting the 32".  I had a BGE XL and went for a 23" KK in 2012.  Last year I added a 32" KK.  I enjoy firing up Trevor.

Well the KK was loaded on the trailer in California on Wednesday and looks like it started to mobolize towards Buffalo this morning. Hoping for delivery this Friday? Fingers crossed!
