  2. I've been to the Preakness a few times in my younger days (when I lived in MD). Always setup camp infield with grill and all. One year not sure I even saw a horse but I did see the bottom of a bottle or two - LOL

  3. Thanks everybody. Mac; Dennis made it for me. They made it out of a piece of his teak flooring. I had to have one after I saw yours, but I had already thrown out all the packing and wood on my KK.

  4. I have 24 of the 19" Tall grills in ready stock. They have been discontinued because they are being replaced by the new 21" Tall. They use the same components as the 19" table top so parts and accessories will never be an issue. Standard tiles: $2,880 was $3,280 Pebble tiles: $2,980 was $3,380

  6. This is the fun part of cooking - making it up as you go. I had a basic idea for what I wanted but no real recipe. I spent about 30 minutes putting different ingredients on the counter until I liked what I saw, then I just started cooking and snapping pictures. Somewhere along the way I fired up the KK's. This turned out to be one of the better creations I've made in a long time. Since I was just throwing things together not measuring anything I don't have much of a story to tell so I'll just post the pictures. This will be one of my all time favorite money shot - LOL

  9. Was at our favorite Wegman's grocery store over the weekend and spotted this package of Premium Australian Licorice Twists.........hmmmmmm. Wonder what Aussie Ora's licorice tastes like????? Well.................. it tastes just like regular old black licorice. Googled it and found out that Australian licorice is supposed to be softer than other licorice. Who knew????

  10. Howdy KKers! Below are just a couple of simple, quick cooks done recently here at ChezChef. Hope you enjoy! First are spiral cut jalapeño sausages and hot links smother in chili, cheese, a few chopped onions, garnished with Fritos, Franks Hot Sauce, and LandShark Lager. Wonderful meal. Now for the healthy choice, hamburger steak, salad, Brussels Sprouts, and last summer's corn. A sumptuous repast each and every one! Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend!

  12. Nice looking sign. You're the only one with a teak sign.

  13. That's because we spell colour the correct way, right Aussie. . It is like neighbour and a whole bunch of other words that are supposed to have a "u " in them.

  15. Glad you did a "grillus interruptus" and pulled out at the last minute! You are going to be blown away once you start cooking on whichever model/size you pick over what you've been using before. As noted, most of us here are severely biased and passionate about these grills. They don't get any better!! Like others have said, call Dennis. He's wonderful and so helpful in helping you make the right choice of grill AND accessories to go with it. The hardest part of the decision will be to pick the color and tile style. Most importantly, when you order, get as many boxes of the Extruded Coconut and Coffee wood Charcoals & smoking wood as will fit on your pallet with your grill. It will be the cheapest you'll ever get it.

  16. I must agree. A good bourbon, rye or scotch neat for me! I had a super bowl party at my house and I told my guests if I saw anybody mixing by bourbons, ryes or scotch with anything, they would immediately be asked to leave. The only cocktail that I drink regularly would be gin and tonics. I do like a sazerac cocktail on a rare occasion. I do also love my beer. That is why I keep four homebrews on tap at all times.

  17. Well, I did the Purple Crack ribs yesterday. I split a rack of baby backs in half - each got smeared with CYM, one half got a mix of Purple Crack, granulated roasted garlic and brown sugar; the other half got Oakridge BBQ Competition Rub. Here's the Purple Crack ribs out of the fridge before going onto the KK @ 225F with smoker pot of pecan and peach woods for 4 1/2 hours. Done. Side by side with the Oakridge, so you can still see the purple color even after they were cooked. Had a buddy over for dinner to help taste test this experiment. We both liked the Purple Crack ribs better. Sorry, no plated shots, but we had corn on the cob, too. I think it came from FL. It was OK for early season corn, but I live for the "home grown" stuff that will be ready in July. Breakfast (aka Brekkie) this morning was Purple Crack hashbrowns, with some cut up Purple Crack rib meat, and a couple of fried eggs on top, dusted of course with more Purple Crack. Did I happen to mention that this sh!t is addictive??

  18. I'm with the two of you. My "go to" is beer (Hey, I'm a homebrewer after all!), but I do enjoy a good whiskey - bourbon, rye, or single malt scotch, either neat or on a single large rocks if it's cask strength. And, I swill a lot of wine with meals. My only regular cocktails are bloody mary's, margaritas and G&Ts (which I live on during the summers!).

  19. Those sausages look amazing. I never thought of doing brussel sprouts on the KK. I will have to give that a try.

  22. All kk's come equipped and ready to go. The only thing they don't actually come with is charcoal, and something to cook. Extras may include a rib rack, side tables, rotisserie, and I highly recommend coco char. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  23. When I was in high school, a friend worked at a licorice factory. She always brought home fresh licorice. It would only stay soft for a few days. Must be something to the claim of soft Aussie licorice............has been soft since we bought it and it made the short trip to the USA before that......tasted just like the factory fresh from my younger days
