Funny thing happened just now. I had been cooking a Boston Butt since 7:30 this morning while Mrs skreef was at work. When Mrs skreef got home from work she asked what I'd been doing all day. I told her cooking the butt and moped it. He face lite up thinking I had moped the kitchen floor or something stupid like that. I laughed when I explained I had moped the butt with a vinegar sauce. She should have known better.2 points

Braved the 10F windchill last night to grill steaks - Denver steaks from Porter Road. I should have left them on the grill a few more minutes, as they were very rare. Still super tasty and tender though. Plated up steakhouse style with 2x baked spud and creamed spinach, with a nice blue cheese mushroom sauce.2 points

Happy New Year everyone. Thanks for the tips, encouragement and abetting in 2019. Wishing you all health, wealth and happiness in 2020. In whatever form that takes. At this point, there is a brisket on the 32KK and I'm about to put on some Indian lamb chops on the 19KK to the recipe of the legendary East End restaurant 'Tayyabs'. I'll take some pictures but given my wife has been mixing cocktails and misread my writing where I said 1:1 as 2:1, the vodka ratio is shall we say 'a little strong' and my competence with the camera may decline dangerously. We'll struggle through. It's bitterly cold but bright and sunny in the UK today. I started BBQ'ing with three layers on. After 2 cocktails, I'm walking out in a t-shirt and going 'meah, it's not that bad'. 🥶2 points

This is a classic case of you don’t know what you don’t know. 10 years ago I bought a Weber Summit grill for $2k. My buddy swore up and down it was a waste of money. I explained that I had spent more than than that in 15 years on grills that didn’t last. I should have just spent the money once. He said his $400 grill was just as good. 3 years later his grill was rotted out and he bought a Weber. My Weber lasted 8 years and was in great shape when I sold it for $600 and bought a Lynx. He then argued with me about Tvs as well after saving money and buying a Visio. That tv lasted 2 years before having issues I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for but some just don’t understand that concept. My KK is better than my KJ and completely happy with the upgrade.2 points

To be honest, I haven't mowed my own lawn in over 25 years. As they saying goes, "I have people."2 points

LOL you mean everybody does not have a maid, gardener and driver full time? Ahh the joys of third-world living! Who cleans your grates when they are greasy? And you thought I lived here for the fun and sun..2 points

And happy new year! Just cranked the bbq on myself for some steaks. I hope the fires stay away from your side - my area is getting hammered right now! My uncle is stuck on a beach tonight - we don’t have much hope for his place (lake conjola just up from batesman Bay) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Friends over tonight. Two boned out pork shoulders. One seasoned with green, black and purple peppercorns and chillie. The other is kid friendly. That’s an apple in between them for air circulation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

To end our Star Wars marathon we had indulgent lamb rolls with gravy - lamb shoulder I brought back from Sydney. Monsoon season here so it is a bit hard to work the machine - it was easier on the balcony! Saw the latest Star Wars today at the cinema - was good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
