My wife and I are down here for the first time in 2 years (no kids!). So next few days I’ll be posting our eating journey. Love this place it’s magical started with lunch today at Salve Asador de Campestre aguachiles, ceviche, tuna rolled tacos and grilled octopus. 100 degrees outside so good food/weather6 points

No doubt there are plenty of good folks on here. Wilburpan, ckreef and his wife used to be on here all the time. Anyway, life goes on and people move on. One thing that didn't go away is people getting pumped about getting their KK. I still watch every singe unpacking thread because I know the feeling of getting that huge crate with all the goodies in it.3 points

Fish on the 16TT tonight. Forgot to take pictures of the carrots on the grill but here they are plated with the fish and a spinach and borlotti salad. Made use of the hot KK to cook the sides for tomorrow's dinner. Slow roasted, assorted vegetables from the allotment. Can't wait for dinner tomorrow!3 points

That's one of the reasons that I never upgraded my old DigiQ-II - a simple, straightforward device. I sometimes struggle with the Meater+, so I know the frustrations of using app-based devices.2 points

Several of the "old timers" have gone MIA in the last couple of years - Ceramic Chef is one, Wilburpan is another, even ckreef rarely posts anymore (have too many new toys to go play with, I suppose?) Still plenty of good folks on here to chat with and share BBQ pics/stories/recipes.2 points

@tony b I haven’t been back to Napa for vacation since 2012 and I don’t see us retiring there anytime soon. This place is 90 minutes from my house and it’s just amazing. Going to the outdoor Santa Maria grill Mecca tonight1 point

A farmer bought a new rooster and right away the rooster wanted every chicken in the farmhouse for his bride. Farmer: “Boy, you better slow down. You’re going to kill yourself” But the rooster didn’t listen and had his way with the ducks, cows, and goats. When the farmer saw him with a pig, he couldn’t believe it. Farmer: “Son, you going to kill yourself. Stop. Now” So one day the farmer saw the rooster spread eagle on the ground, wings stretched out and tongue hanging out. His eye were closed and he wasn’t breathing. Farmer: “I told you. I told you. Now look at you. All dead and not worth nothing!” The rooster barely raised a wing skyward. “Shhhhhhhh. Buzzards!”1 point

The best thing about owning a KK is the community of KK users. This is a really cool thing to read. I will share as much as I can and continue to participate here. I cannot say enough about this community of people. This has to be the best product on earth to bring together such great people.1 point

Johnnymnemomic said “I'm still waiting on mine, but I'm stoked. I coveted one of these things for 10+ years - now I have a 42"SBB only a couple weeks out.” @johnnymnemonic I’m probably one of many here on the forum who are eagerly awaiting your KK arrival. It will be quite a treat to see your delivery pics and see you enjoying it at last!1 point

I generally only used the cyberQ for overnight cooks so I'm at home. I haven't had any problems adjusting the temp settings but I don't like the web interface and I don't like the notifications coming via email and text - I'd really prefer an app so I could get discrete alarms for under/over temps so I don't have to check every text and email while I'm trying to sleep. I also have issued with it forgetting everything if I don't use it for a few months; I have to go thru the whole set up process and re-register the device on the website. I can never remember the process and it won't switch between direct and infrastructure network connections smoothly so I end up having to manually enter my network information; it's really painful to enter the network info using the buttons on the device!0 points
