MacKenzie Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Cooked some pasta and made homemade tomato sauce with tomatoes fresh from the garden. Added these to a casserole along with some baked portabella mushrooms, 3 large Italian sausages, cottage cheese and Monterey Jack Cheese. On the KK at 350F for an hour. Plated. 4
Bruce Pearson Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 That looks delicious! Is that a recipe or did you make it up yourself?
Steve M Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 I really like your cooks because they typically aren't the "standard" grill fare and it inspires me to move that direction. Do you usually use a charcoal that gives the extra dimension of flavor vs the oven?
Aussie Ora Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Nicley done Mac it's spring here but still cold and raining could definitely have a bit of that Outback Kamado Bar and Grill
Stile88 Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Looks wonderful mac i bet that was so delecious
EGGARY Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 MacKenzie, That is too good to look at. Pasta is evil, if you know what I mean.
MacKenzie Posted September 24, 2016 Author Report Posted September 24, 2016 Thanks everyone for your encouraging words. It was a fly by the seat of your pants recipe that worked out, they don't all. The sausages were precooked and very moist but low in fat. I made up for the fat with the cheese.;) The last thing I want to do is cook in the kitchen stove, just how much fun is it to turn the knob open the door and put the food in the oven, I suggest not much. Plus the heat in the KK is not the same as the kitchen oven.:)
ckreef Posted September 25, 2016 Report Posted September 25, 2016 Now that is my kind of meal. Looks fantastic.
MacKenzie Posted September 25, 2016 Author Report Posted September 25, 2016 Thanks, ck, sometimes winging it pays off and this was one of those times.:) 1
