  1. Put your gloves on and put this big boy down on your firebox. This grill has the volume to really burn/brand those much desired grill marks that you dream about..
  2. Re: Can I get one more measurement from someone? I'll take measurements and record on a photo tomorrow.. Sorry I missed this post..
  3. Now that's a good lookin' Chicken... Now that's a good lookin' Chicken... No beer can birds for me. If you pre-brine you can broil it longer and burn of more fat and get the skin paper thin and Krispy... The cradles are all 17.5" long and come both 6 and 8" wide.. That looks like the 6"
  4. Here it is at long last.. The official statement via the HW legal department... As I said, Asbestos my Arse! n68456
  5. This is my week of Sundays It's Idul Fitri here the end of Ramadan the month long fasting Islamic holiday and so the country is closed this week.. I usually run to my house in Thailand every chance I have but have chosen to stay home and catch up around the house, play with the baby, work on my aquarium and put up a new website for Komodo.. Stay tuned..
  6. My vote is for Bambi.. To small for venison? They start out small ya know.. Maybe roadkill.. I gotta vote venison... just imagine that lil' tail a wigglin Yup it's Bambi
  7. Actually existing doors could be updated as the guide roods/rails are bolted with mini bolts to the door and the screen drawer could be attached using these 4 mini bolts also. Just a side note.. it is uncommon to have burning embers roll out on their own.. It takes the right combination of ash mountain and small burning bounce to have one travel that far to the edge.. This is something that might happen when your poking around in the coals..
  8. Ten minutes to open up your Komodo crate.. To make a crate that can stand up to the abuse of the trucking companies is great but can be a total nightmare to open up.. So what I'm now doing is building the crate and pallet stand alone. The cooker is secured to the base first then the crate is lowered over the cooker and secured by 8 bolts with wood threads. To open, use a ratchet to remove bolts and lift off the crate.. About one minute per bolt. Just trying to make your Komodo experience more enjoyable and less work.. I had the pleasure of opening up one of my crates in August and I promised myself to make that experience easier.. The yellow straps are to secure the cooker. the blue rope is the harness to carry/lift the cooker. The protective plastic bag is also a new addition.. Pre-drilled.. Next time they will use washers..
  9. At long last, a Supreme Komodo quality design for a side table. A side table not shown will slip snugly into the bracket's opening. The table will be removable so one can carry their meat out to the Komodo or Q back to the house on the side table. Also one bracket can hold tables of many different designs. The pivot hole/slot is tapered so as it follows the pin it pulls itself snug tight against the body. These tables will not be mousey.. They will gladly be up to holding that 20# chuck roll...
  10. Wanna leave your door wide open? This will keep the lil hot ones inside.. Any ideas, comments?
  11. But they are $19.99! No, I throw in the Tel Tru thermometer standard! But they are $19.99! Can't put a $2 dollar Chinese thermometer in a Komodo.. Just would not be right..
  12. Blanket for Linus! It's not the chips...it's the operating system! Yea, and now we got both! You can also natively boot windows as a blanket Linus.. BTW.. The OTB.. designed on a Mac... That's proof in the puddin' "Never ask a man what computer he uses. If it's a Mac, he'll tell you. If it's not, why embarrass him?" Tom Clancy
  13. Thanks guys... Damn, I love this forum!
  14. Re: Mod Won't Work- southern boys a bit slow.. Hellooh? Lights are on but nobody's home... Everybody knows that heat rises!! Damn, it's right what they say about these southern boys being a bit slow..
  15. easier (and less cost) The problem is that the tubes are lower at the ends /closer to the cooker floor. so unless the hole permitted wiggle that might later get sloppy over the years... If we can find the right rigid expanded plate screen we could make this with out a frame with a plasma cutter.. And yes... I am going to send them out to the Komodo family gratis..
  16. Mock up of a removable screen frame.. Yikes.. What i think I need to make is a rigid screen that has two holes in it that can be slid from the inside onto the two guide tubes making a protective barrier. That way pieces can't land on a tall pile and roll down.. Here is our lil mock up of a removable screen frame.. Easily removed and installed...
  17. What about a perforated deflector? To combat this heat loss and make indirect more efficient, has anyone ever tried anything perforated. Maybe some small holes that would let just a little heat pass through but not scorch anything above?
  18. Re: heat deflector in 2 piec I could also add another little handle/deflector holder in the rear..
  19. heat deflector in 2 piec How large should the rear section be? Rear to center..
  20. What is too much heat deflection? What is too much heat deflection? Too indirect? With the original round one I've found that the outsides of the grill are dramatically hotter than above the deflector and cook as if it was direct.. I've also not had room enough in the indirect area..
  21. Re: Dennis... Consider making this heat deflector in 2 piec I like the way you think.. But you already knew that!
  22. Time to make the heat deflector reflect the shape of the cooker.. My hypothesis is that a larger deflector gives one a larger protected area above it. This template is the same size as the top opening of the firebox. Is this the consensus of the group or should it be one inch smaller all the way around? 23. Empty ashes from burner..30 second job Yup, but this is a 30 second job... Slide it out and tap it on some newspaper, then slide it back in. It can also still be used with some ashes on top..
