Yes, we have them for Nov. 11th.

Tony, if those folks from the tv show Hoarding see this you could be in serious trouble.

Thanks, Keith B, air fryer is another tool as is a slow cooker and there are different brands. I did pick one from the Philips Avance series. I can control the time and temp, and cook many different things. Some brands are made for fries only and you don't have a lot of control over things.

Thanks, Aussie, it is the new toy on the block.:)

A few years ago I did visit Gallipoli and went to the cemetry and I did get a few pixs of the poppies. The Australian and New Zealand forces landed on Gallipoli on 25 April, meeting fierce resistance from the Ottoman Turkish defenders. What had been planned as a bold stroke to knock Turkey out of the war quickly became a stalemate, and the campaign dragged on for eight months. At the end of 1915 the allied forces were evacuated from the peninsula, with both sides having suffered heavy casualties and endured great hardships. More than 8,000 Australian soldiers had died in the campaign. Gallipoli had a profound impact on Australians at home, and 25 April soon became the day on which Australians remembered the sacrifice of those who died in the war. Although the Gallipoli campaign failed in its military objectives, the actions of Australian and New Zealand forces during the campaign left a powerful legacy. What became known as the “Anzac legend” became an important part of the identity of both nations, shaping the ways in which they viewed both their past and their future. Here are some of my pixs.

St Louis Ribs and Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno sounded good!

Keith, must have been a few tense minutes at that cook. I am glad that you were able to rescue nearly all of them. It was a teaching lesson for the rest of us as well.:)- 7 replies

Tony, I did the whole cook in the air fryer, 400F for 60 mins and flip ocean at the half way mark. If you don't do the whole cook in the air fryer I don't the skin will come out as good as it does in the air fryer.

Lots of fun this evening, KK rotisserie going with half a chicken on the OctoFork and baked potato in the AirFryer Plated. Yes, that is an air fried double baked potato.

You will have lots of time to experiment and you will be able to eat each one of them.:)

@ Tony- I found this in a document from the Dr. OZ show- Regarded as a sacred healing food by many civilizations, including the ancient Egyptians, crude or virgin red palm fruit oil should be regarded as one of the most nutritious edible oils in the world. It is not to be confused with palm kernel oil. It is derived from the fruit of the oil palm tree (Elaeis guineensis) and is referred to as "red palm oil" because of its rich dark red color in its unprocessed natural state. Palm kernel oil is derived from the seed or the kernel. Whether it’s olive, coconut, almond, canola, peanut, safflower, walnut, or even avocado oil – none compare to the powerful nutritional virtues of virgin organic red palm fruit oil. Palm fruit oil contains mainly palmitic and oleic acids and is about 50% saturated, while palm kernel oil contains mainly lauric acid and is more than 89% saturated. The health benefits are only achieved due to the red color of the palm fruit oil that is attributed to its high content of carotenes, which include beta-carotene and lycopene. These powerhouse antioxidant nutrients are the same ones that give tomatoes and carrots and other fruits and vegetables their rich red and orange colors. What may shock you is that red palm fruit oil contains more that tomatoes or carrots. Red palm fruit oil is also densely packed with numerous tocotrienols – a powerful form of vitamin E. This maybe why you think think palm oil is unhealthy- Processed palm oil does not contain cholesterol and behaves like hydrogenated fats (the dangerous trans-fatty acids) in packaged foods since it has “thickness” at room temperature. This makes it ideal for many food manufacturers to use in place of hydrogenated oils in their snack products. Processed foods can then be advertised as being "trans fat free" and "cholesterol free”. But, when red palm oil is refined and processed, the red color disappears and its nutritional and healing benefits are destroyed. Once it becomes part of a processed snack food, it no longer features the health benefits and powerful antioxidants found only in the raw palm oil.

All this air fryer talk got me into the play mode so decided to do potato wedges for breakfast. I did as Tony did, cook the wedges first, put 1T of vinegar into the boiling water with the potatoes. When they were done let the steaming potatoes cool down and dry off a little then added 1.5t of Red Palm Oil. Made sure all sides were coated then added them to the air fryer. Ready for the fryer. 375F for 10 mins. Plated. They were very crispy and tasty. No wonder I needed something special for breakfast, we had a little snow overnight.

Thanks Bruce, I appreciate your post.

I am new to air frying and went with the latest Philips series, the Avance line and so far I am very pleased with it and love the cord storage. It neatly wraps around and stays in place. This model has some presets and temperature control in increments of 25, It also has a timer in minute increment up to 60 mins. Extremely easy to use the controls and you can change the temp and time part way through the cook if you wish. A couple of days ago I was speaking with someone who started out with the Tefal but after 3 months gave it to her son and bought the Philips because she hated having that post in the middle. She the self-stiring mechanism did break up some of the food. I would think if I did frozen onion rings in the Tefel that some of the batter would be knocked off. I have done grilled cheese a couple of times and I'm not sure how that would go unless the Tefal post can be totally removed. The wire grate in the bottom of the Philips keeps food up off the floor so that the air can get around the food and I have not had any problem cleaning it. You do have to shake it every few mins. My home fries take about 10-12 mins. so staying put is not a problem. The baked potato took around 50 mins. and I flipped it once, at the 30 min. mark. It was the best baked potato I've had in a very long time. The basket will go in the dishwasher but so far I've only had to wipe it out with a damp cloth. The one problem I have is flipping the grilled cheese sandwich. The basket is hot and not huge so I need to be careful and figure out a good method. I did think whoever did the comparison video between Tefal and Philips had an agenda and it wasn't to make a fair comparison. NOTE: I have not done huge amounts in my air fryer so I can't speak on cooking large amounts.

Aussie, I can't get over the amount of meat on those bones. A great looking dinner.[emoji4]

The wedges look good from here. I need to try those. I think I saw a package of frozen ones at the store the other day and I bet they would be good too. I did another grilled cheese with Canadian bacon this evening and it was certainly tasty, the bread comes out crisp and I'm liking that a lot. I was very lucky with the storage, I made a space and had about 1/4 inch to space. I sure didn't want to store it in the basement or the counter, no room there.
-
Looking great and I'm sure it tasted the same.:)
-
Nice colour and I bet that delivery didn't take too long.:)
-
Aussie, your beef ribs are looking very good and YOU seem to be enjoying the bones. [emoji4]

Keith, that video of the beef pizza is driving me crazy, it look soooooooooooooo delicious. It was just in time for an evening snack.:)
