  1. Thanks, dstr.:) The air fryer, yes, I just recently bought a Philip's Avance airfryer, their newest model. Never thought I'd buy one of those things until a good friend told me he ordered one. We usually like the same tools so I researched where to get one in Canada and immediately placed my order. BTW, mine arrived weeks before he got his. Used frozen fries in the fryer, 400F for 10 mins. same for onion rings bought a bag of frozen onion rings(my first ever) 400F for 10 mins and you saw the pix. Awesome, just like deep fried except no added fat. BTW I have always hated frozen fries until now and in the airfryer they turn out perfectly. Please don't take those times as the Time. because I think it may change on the volume of fries you put into the fryer. There is no heat up time, put the rings in set the temp. set the time press start. Done in 10 mins. no smell of oil, no oil to deal with, no safety issues. Can you tell how thrilled I am with this purchase. https://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/philips-avance-airfryer/?cm_src=PIPRecentView Mind you I can't see doing meat/poultry in an airfryer when you have a KK. I seriously doubt you would be as happy with the results. BTW, the onion rings stay crispy for the whole meal and the frozen fries are very crispy too.
  2. No torch, I used the gas grill in the oven.
  3. Requis, that is the way a KK works and wait until you do chicken, it will be sooooo moist.:)
  4. Funny, when I was mixing up the mayo and sriracha I thought someone is going to get a surprise, no ketchup.;)
  5. It was delicious and I would buy them again. $3.95 per pattie. Seems like a good deal to me if I end up with a billion dollar burger.
  6. I'll take that as a compliment, tailc.
  7. CC, Tony, is a good sport with my teasing. The reason you see so many meals with ketchup is that I like it with fries and I've been making a lot of them since getting my air fryer.
  8. The last time I was in the big city shopping I visited my favourite butcher and saw "Billion Dollar" burgers in the show case window. They are a mix of beef and pork and umpteen other ingredients. I just had to try them. First I needed to make buns that would hold the burgers. Did that yesterday. Thought I might just as well have a special breakfast too. The billion dollar burger- On the grill- Searing. Then started putting it together, A round of cheese toasted on the bottom of the bun. Add some lettuce from the deck herb garden. Add the burger to the bottom and some mayo sriracha mix to the toasted top bun. Top with a couple of air fried onion rings. Add the top. It doesn't look that big but trust me it was. I couldn't eat another bite of anything.:) .
  9. Tony, that was a great sight to see, beautiful. Not sue what wood it was other than it was in the smoking leftover container.
  10. The pix of the steak on the KK looks wonderful. Actually that steak was a small roast and the leftovers will be welcome I'm sure.
  11. You are becoming a short rib pro, Aussie.
  12. Your wife did an absolutely fantastic job on your short ribs and chips cake. [emoji16][emoji7][emoji41]
  13. Looks like a tasty meal, ck.
  14. Sure looks tasty, Steve. Thanks for posting the sauce recipe.
  15. I thought as much but I was about to ask for your trash.:)

    Hair dryer

Now we're talking and I happen to have two M18 batteries, now I just need to locate the blower.:) Thanks, Syzygies.:)
  19. That is going to be a fantastic setting when finished, awesome. Speaking of awesome, your 32 inch KK is stunning, love that colour.:) I agree with Steve, it is not that easy to get coffee char or coconut wood in Canada so I'd save it for cooking. Get some lump charcoal locally and use that for the burn in. Not sure where your lower grate should be in the packing but perhaps you have found it by now, I hope.:)
  20. Bruce you might think all that garlic would over power things but not so, it was nice and mellow with Just a hint of orange. One thing I like is that this recipe has no added sugar of any kind and most beans seem to have tons of sugar in one form or another.
  21. Aussie, your burger looks extra tasty.
  22. A friend gave me a batch of turtle beans that she grew last year. Added 10 smashed cloves of garlic, 1 large onion quartered with some of the root on all 4 pieces, one orange juiced and the orange shell to beans that were soaked overnight. Put them on the KK to simmer for 8 or more until they were soft. Plated with a salad and garlic bread. When the beans are done throw out the orange peel and the onion chunks.
  23. Beautiful, I like the very first shot after the sliced tuna and as a second pick I'd go with the same as Paul, the first overhead shot.:) Good luck.:)
  24. Speaking of wildlife, I was checking my garden out about 6 AM this morning. Beautiful sunny, windless, quiet time then all of a sudden I heard the rustle of wings and wind directly about my head. 12 geese flew over about 25 feet in the air and only made 1 honking sound. It was beautiful and I have only the recorded memory in my head for proof.
