I love sweet potatoes and when I do this recipe I will bake instead of boil preserves more of the taste and sweetness! Garvin Ingredients for 8 large, 16 medium, or 32 slider-sized rolls: For sponge: 1 package (2 1/2 tsp) dry active yeast (I used Fleischmann's “RapidRise” Yeast) 1/2 cup warm water 1/2 cup AP flour Then add: 1 cup mashed orange sweet potato (also sold as yams) 2 tsp honey 1 1/4 teaspoons fine salt 1 large egg 3 tablespoons melted butter 3 to 3 1/2 cups flour AP flour, as needed to form the right texture dough (see blog post) - Bake at 400 F. for 15 minutes, or until browned. Large buns may take an extra few minutes, and the sliders-sized may take a minute or two less.2 points

My sieve finally arrived it has been on order for weeks and weeks. It is the only sieve I have that has a serial number. This is the one syzygies said that he likes for removing some of the bran from home-ground wheat berries when making flour. We had an 8-10 hours of freezing rain last evening which led to about 6 hours of no power and therefore no water. Today I spent quite a few hours getting the ice off the deck so I could get out to feed the birds and squirrels. Needless to say I was hungry afterwords that I thought the best thing to do was make a batch of homemade spaghetti and try the sieve out. Thanks, Syzygies.:)2 points

Got everything working. It took a while, but now that I have figured everything out, and have all the pieces, it is actually very easy to set up. Tried thighs the first night. Will go for a higher cook temp next time.and done. definitely the juiciest chicken I have ever tasted. Almost think it was too juicy. I didn't know this was possible. The next night I did a whole chicken and kept it at the same temp. Since this was a larger piece of meat it was cooked longer and I was happy with the results. looking forward to many more spins.1 point

BREAKFAST ONION CUPS Servings: 6 INGREDIENTS 2 cups broccoli florets, minced- Or spinach about 3 cups 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded 7 eggs 5 strips bacon, cooked and diced 1 large red onion 1 teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon pepper ½ teaspoon chili powder 2 tablespoon milk Garnish Parmesan cheese PREPARATION 1. Heat oven to 400˚/200˚C. 2. Mix eggs, milk, and spices in large mixing bowl. 3. Add broccoli, bacon, and cheese, and continue mixing until all ingredients are well incorporated. 4. Cut ends off the red onion and then slice in half. Gently pop out rings, using desired size. 5. Heat cast-iron pan on low and place onion rings in the pan. 6. Spoon in small amount of egg mixture and press on the onion ring create a seal, then repeat for all rings. Pour the remaining mixture filling to just about the top of each ring. 7. Cover with foil. 8. Place in oven and cook for 25 minutes, or until eggs are cooked through and slightly puffed and onion rings are tender. 9. Remove from pan immediately and sprinkle with desired topping. 10. Enjoy! Garvin1 point

Both times, we were doing it "traditional" as shots - “gun bae!” I have also mixed it into various cocktails - watermelon seems to come to mind, as does apple juice. It's been a couple of years ago.1 point

That series of photos that Bosco Posted are good examples of what color contrasts can do, especially since they are all in home settings with the various backgrounds. Against the forest give one look, against a brick wall gives a completely different look than against the shingle wall, etc. Tough choice!1 point

Had that thought too. One possibility is to stick with a gold themed pebble, so they'd look like siblings. The options there are harvest gold, which might be too similar to my current, and cream and gold...which would meet your go lighter idea.1 point

That thought was always on my mind. So, i made a 150,000 gallon reservoir (15ft deep) and alway had 30 minutes of air in a scuba tank sitting close to the pond in an outbuilding so i could jump in and let the fire crown. I also had a bulldozer and maintained 2 exit roads down the mountainside on 2 different slopes, a south slope and a north slope. The only thing better would have been a helicopter From that location I could walk, ride motorcycle, etc. 80 miles north, 35 miles east and 6 miles south without hitting another paved road or public road, only logging roads and not many of those. We had bear, deer, mountain lion, bobcat, martin, fox and all manner of small things and flying things. Grouse quail and pigeon were all edible and when the pigeons had been stuffing themselves on blackberries they were pretty tasty.1 point

I really like the black with the combo, but I must say a lighter colour tera blue with the brown is on a entirely different level of luxury and class. Brown and blue just seems to be the new peanut butter and jam. Look at business suits and shoes now. Everyone is wearing the brown shoes with blue suits. Years ago people would have said that you were crazy. I really like this combo and since you are not looking to add a table I think this is the route I would go personally. The black is still a good option though1 point

Dennis has already sent me pics of the full stock. Didn't even have to ask I do like my olive & gold a lot, but not going to go there. Partly because...what if I add a 19" in the future? Then I need to match three grills. You've actually hit most of my thoughts on this: Same side tables. Probably pebble, but flexible on this. Black pebble is where I'm leaning. Harvest gold is another thought I had. Same earthy feel as my olive & gold, but with enough contrast that it stands apart. Terra blue is my third thought. I like it, but leaning toward the others. Cobolt blue is the one color that I don't think works there. I like the color, but not in my setting. So...I'm leaning toward black pebble. It would look like a black bear, which is pretty commonly spotted in the Virginia blue ridge.1 point

Well I will say that the colour you have will be the easiest to match and my OCD argues for you to try at least. But with that said... you are not planning on joining them together so this may not bother me as long as they are on different spots on the deck. If they are side by side, I think you really need to stay the same. Dennis can send you better photos of inventory to help you decide (he did that for ckreef) if you insist on opposing colors I think at the very least you need the side tables for both to help link them and you need to stay in the pebble persuasion i think black pebble with your harvest pebble would be nice as well. That is what ceramic chef has so look back at his photos and you can see that contrast. As for the next possible color. I think the harvest pebble blends well into your earthy environment and something that feeds well off of that neutral pallet is the terra blue. I will find a picture from gofroz who has that combo and they really do look amazing together. If you don't care about cosmetically matchingdofferent colours up then I say go for colbolt blue as it it one of my most favourite ones.1 point

Miyabi is owned by Zwilling. When Zwilling wanted to branch out into Japanese knives they decided to change the brand name so their Japanese lines wouldn't be confused as German knives. Either way they are all hand made in Japan but they are made with very exacting standards and have very modern packaging.1 point

Partly I don't think I'd find a perfect match and the differences would annoy me. Partly I think the contrast would look good. Partly there are a lot of KK colors I like. Fun to branch out.1 point

That looks like a nice utility stove! I lived without electricity for 20 years, in the woods, so there was a supply of fuel as well as game if necessary. I ended up using solar panels for 12VDC television and radio and chargers. Worked great with no complaints from me. This was all cast iron firebox and oven and top grill, doors and warming shelf and the rest was just porcelain enameled steel. Great stove, and it too was NOT portable. The green heater had 2 cooking grates on top and it too was all cast iron., as well as a fireplace.1 point

That looks pretty good cheers for the recipe I met these Japanese tourists in town one day and they were lost as I had the day off I said I would show them the sights of Perth in their hire car they totally loved it little did I know they were high executives looking into our iron ore industry and we're staying at the best place in town after the day they invited me back to the hotel and pulled out some sake they had brought with them from japan let's just say we all got pissed had a great night and I passed out on the floor lol Outback Kamado Bar and Grill1 point

I have written Dennis privately for advice on the best gasket retrofit for my 2009 23" KK Ultimate. For indoor ovens, a common warning that comes with using ample steam is possible damage to the oven. Electronics? Glass door? Hasn't been my problem. For a KK, the gaskets are perhaps the most vulnerable component. When steam condenses back to water, it transfers a massive wallop of energy; that's why steam burns are so dangerous. Perhaps the KK gaskets are glued on fine for normal use, but can't withstand constant bombardment by steam. I'm too hooked on bread to give up this practice, I'll figure this out, but in the interest of full disclosure I wanted to raise this possible issue.1 point

Today I had a nice conversation with Dennis. At the beginning of the conversation he asked if I had received the teak handled grill grippers yet. I told him the package was delivered today but I was not home from work yet. We talked about a lot of things and we talked about my upcoming KK purchase. Along the way I asked about a 16.5" grill shaped dip pan. He told me, "Maybe I'll surprise you one day." I got home today to a rather big package from Dennis - way bigger than grill grippers. Opening that box was like Christmas in October. First up is the grill grippers. TY Bryan for the great pizza contest prize. Also included was a 16.5" basket splitter. And the star of the show was a 16.5" grill shaped drip pan/deflector. He wasn't wrong when he told me he would surprise me one day. I am totally excited about this and it will get used on a regular and constant basis. After all that I was left speechless. I knew the grill grippers were coming but I had no idea about the other items. KK's and Dennis - the finest kamado, person and company to deal with. I am so glad I went KK instead of a Primo.1 point
