What? No discounts on KK grills?
DennisLinkletter replied to CeramicChef's topic in Posts for KK Shoppers
What? No Discounts? While we work with many up-market landscape architects, designers, builders, all KK grills are sold factory direct at basically wholesale to the public. no distributors, dealers, retailers etc. It’s simply because we don’t have a wholesale to retail margin to discount from, we can’t actually discount the grills themselves. We price them at what we need to get, not some inflated price that we slash from. We only discount grills if a model is being discontinued or an update has made is less desirable. That being said, I’m always happy/willing to sweeten the deal if it’s a larger or multiple grill order but it won’t be a significant discount or source of revenue for anybody. A sweetened deal is usually giving you some CoCo or coffee charcoal.. don't thank me as it's just like the crack dealer giving you your first taste. -

Awesome cook Lynne, I tell people you are the Julia Childs of Kamado Cooking and a stellar photographer to boot! That is an incredible plate of food! -
Is the 32" Big Bad too big?
DennisLinkletter replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in Posts for KK Shoppers
BTW.. My baking stones "Heat Transfer Formula" was "inspired by" a post Fibrement made in a baking forum years ago. They were adjusting the density and actually posted the old formula and the new one. I wrote it down and called the plant manager at Harbinson Walker and asked if he could make me food safe material that performed like that. He laughed and said that's what we do.. this is our language. Went back to that forum and the formula had been deleted. LOL -
The coffee wood smoke was over the top.

Yes of course, but this is the worst possible place to make this order. My staff will never see this. Please send this request to [email protected] or my email. -
Cool are those steel?

Now if you grind or use a food processor to make your minced meat, it will take you into another stratosphere! Thin pork patty on top of a beef patty works too.. Think Bacon Burger Supreme.. -
The issue is that the castors are buried up in the wheel wells and no access to them. I never came up with a leg design that gave access to the wheels to make them locking that was not fugly. 99% of customers use them on a flat surface or should use them on a flat surface so it's usually not an issue. I would think it would just roll back and forth in a big earthquake.

These are just in I have not even got them all up and priced in the website. But lots of new cabinets with shelves and drawers on roller bearings and brushed CNC cut stainless on everything. PS The white film is the protective membrane from the SS factory in the website but here are some teasers for you..

Happy Mother's Day.. I felt very fortunate this year because my mother came and stayed for two weeks the end of this last March. The worst thing about making a life overseas is that you are so far from old friends and family. Here are some shots of my amazing mother.. BTW she's 81 years young! This was last month when she was in Bali Last month in Bali with my kids This was 2010 in Bali with my rascals This was her 81st birthday last November

19" Tall Discontinued and now on SALE
DennisLinkletter replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in KK Announcements
I'm sorry we stopped building the 19" Tall in January and we can't order just one set of the CNC cut metal from our job shop. So this limits the sale on the 19 Talls to those in ready stock in the US. I'll ship directly from the factory in Indonesia to you. -
Thank you Shelly, I really appreciate the kudos..

Sorry to mention this but the sound of those battery powered ones is let's just say.. "less than pleasant" they sound like they are out of oil and about to self-destruct but then they don't and keep whining and whining.. LOL At least the one somebody sent me..

The water jet company in Surabaya charged by the CM for the cuts and the price was ridiculous. I don't believe they know how to calculate how much to charge to cover their overhead and the machine cost etc.. I think they are just fishing to see how much they can get.. Typical 3rd world business clowns.

No they warp from the production process. 1/4" is a lot of material and it gets super hot when it's cut with the laser and warps.. I've asked them to program it so that they cut at alternative ends to no avail.. ;-(

Absolutely the coffee lump is natural lump charcoal. In fact, because it only comes in medium to large pieces it's easy to create the high the airflow necessary for high temps.

The problem with the baking steel was the excessive price to machine the grease groove. The problem with these SS grates is that they warp badly.. I can't get them to stay flat no matter what they try.

I use a cyberQ as a thermometer.. Love to monitor my cooks from my iPhone but don't use the fan. The probes are commercial/industrial quality and last.. the mavericks and simular $40-$60 units have little weenie armored cables that just don't last if you cook all the time.

DennisLinkletter replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in Komodo General
Please post the URL's here and we'll move them.. It needs an admin or moderator to do this.. -
I have discovered a new wave of forum visitors who I believe are wannabe customers researching KK grills. I've make up a new section Posts for KK Shoppers. I'd like to fill it with great unpacking posts or posts with great comments that will help educate these visitors and help them take the leap. Will you please help me find great posts? I've already included CeramicChef's un-crating of the beast and two others that I knew off the top of my head.. Having this targeted all 5 star post area makes sense. Thanks as always for your help...

I have 24 of the 19" Tall grills in ready stock. They have been discontinued because they are being replaced by the new 21" Tall. They use the same components as the 19" table top so parts and accessories will never be an issue. Standard tiles: $2,880 was $3,280 Pebble tiles: $2,980 was $3,380
