I could throw them up on the webstore.. It's pretty heavy but if you want to keep your hands clean I understand that. I always glove up before taking mine out.

23 inch Ultimate for sale in DFW...1 year old.
DennisLinkletter replied to Hogsfan's topic in Komodo General
@Smoking_Big_Al I deleted your post, I'm sorry but this is not the tone I want here on this forum. Everybody has their reasons for what they do.. they are actually none of our business. Different strokes for different folks, as I always say KK's aren't for everybody. They are a significant investment and those monies are often better spent elsewhere. Justin I wish you all the best, I hope you will continue to be a contributing member where we don't care what you cook on.. Webbers and KJ's welcomed here! -
Last week there was a post about ways to keep the rear gas port door from popping open from the air blast created from the silicone gaskets. We had a little pow wow and came up with this.. Pretty slick eeh? We bad.. we bad.. If demand we'll make up a bunch of these threaded rods so users can upgrade their rear doors.

Solid Hex/Square Roti Motor Shafts in stock
DennisLinkletter replied to DennisLinkletter's topic in KK Announcements
I'm told all the motors sold right now by OneGrill.com spin clockwise looking into the socket. This will tighten the cradle shaft. NO need for loctite. -
In the web store each grill listed is unique, those are not SKUs but inventory/build numbers. Those are shots of that actual grill. The tiles vary from batch to batch and box to box.. we sort them to make them as uniform in color and shade/tone.

Now that's a real chunk of meat.. NICE!

FotonDrv The lid is very easy to remove, you will need to remove the rear stainless hinge cover with the supplied allen key that we weld into a long T to make access to the bolts easier. Then with the lid open you will loosen the spring tension and remove the large spring. Then remove the cotter pin from the hinge pin and tap it out. The lid can now be removed and set onto some towels or blankets, taking care not to put the weight of the lid onto the very edge of the lid which can focus all the weight onto one or two tiles which makes those tiles unhappy. The lid weighs 194lbs and the rolling base weighs 512 lbs and comes with a rope harness with four loops. These are very helpful and make carrying it down stairs easier for four men (128lbs each) Please feel free to call me should you have any questions or there is anything I can do for you. I have no experience with this because my motor from OneGrill.com spins clockwise and tightens the right side cradle drive shaft into the cradle. -
42" SBB is in Production and shipping!

It's in two pieces. One piece would not be feasible. -

This is a favorite for the kids and great snack meat for me. I buy pre-brined shoulders from a quality German butcher here. Saves me the work and our fridges are always filled and not much room for a big chunk of meat. Mostly I'm busy and lazy Cold smoked about 2 hours than hot smoked at 235º and then pulled at 138º wrapped in foil couple hours then into the fridge. Put the ham into the deep freeze until it got firm for slicing. The coffee wood smoke is beautiful. I think it could be sucessful commercially. Kept 2 stacks for immediate consumption and then threw 7 into the freezer. The kids will go thru this in 2-3 weeks

These will be shipped soon with two drill bits and some refractory patch. The Cold Smoker works fine in the Guru port but common sense would dictate the vapor would be more effective if released closer to the target. These are exactly two tiles in size and will be available in both the 25 and 28mm tile sizes.

Yikes! Somethings just can't be unseen.. I'm so sorry this happened.. Life's a bitch at times. Hope she gets well soon..

Thanks for the kudos.. I've very pleased with the grill . The Komodo Kamado completely fills the space.. it just looks odd in those shots because the massive latch has not yet been installed. BTW this plate is two tiles tall.. -
23" Ultimate or 32" Big Bad -- That is the question!
DennisLinkletter replied to John Wheeler's topic in KK 411
If you are talking about warming up for grilling, you are only heat sinking the grates not necessarily the grills body. Heat sinking the body is important for low and slow and roasting. Grilling: Charcoal creates a ton of heat and I'm confident I can get any KK grill to 650ºf faster (with a hair dryer being used as a blower) than any gas grill. Tenderloin: The 23" grill is 21" front to rear. -
The 42” SBB is our latest addition to the KK family.. It’s ID is 42” wide and 22” deep. It comes standard with 3 levels of 3/8”” 304 stainless grates that can be used to cook on 4 levels. Also standard is a charcoal basket splitter reducer that lets you cook on a reduced volume of charcoal. This creates a two-zone cooking environment and lets you cook two steaks quickly. Our guess is the total weight is about 1,500 lbs and rolls easily on 6 high-density black rubber castors, 4 in the legs and two under the body to distribute the weight evenly. The grill boasts 240 lbs of 304 and 316 stainless components. The standard tiled grills start at $9,200 and the pebble and bronze tiled grills are $9,460. This is a video of the inside of the beast.. This top grill is sold.. These of course are still being worked on.. This Pebble grill is sold.

Probes with the 90º bend can be carefully straightened.. You need to make many small bends moving along the bend using a vise. The gap in the teak side tables works well to do this too.
-
Splitter in the 32 can't create the half rear charcoal like the round 23" basket. ;-(

Mavericks just don't last for me.. Never have. I used to buy them three at a time. I'm going to buy a Thermoworks Smoke and put it thru the paces. Might be a nice service to have them available in the KK web store. They don't sell wholesale but would save my customers the hassle of an additional purchase.
-
It's just the cables and electricity in the rain that bothers me outside. Best to have both options.. easy to have a small external power plug that can be sealed with a rubber plug.
-
Killed that cook.. Meat looks awesome!
-
How did you like the Thermoworks Smoke? I'm guessing it's great. I really like the fact it's battery operated. Sorta a pain to have to plug in the Guru.

Those look killer.. I swear I could smell them for just a second. Trying to cut out the carbs 6 days a week.. time to swap the noodles/rice for pizza for my cheat day.
