  2. That was very interesting, Tony, I have a friend that is not allowed grapefruit either but I didn't know exactly why. I just assumed it interfered with the drug never dreamed it would make it more potent.

  4. That is exactly what I had. I like Schweppes tonic so I imagine I would like Bitter Lemon. I will keep my eye open for it.[emoji4]
  5. Thanks for that, I appreciate your thoughts on my chicken breast. Now we are even, I was going to say if you don't do any more fish cooks I won't do any more chicken breast but I can't see that happening.
  6. That is exactly what I did, Steve, I just left out that minor detail.
  7. Tangles, it was hot, too hot to do much more than sit in the ODK and smell the cooking. I am in Nova Scotia, Canada and there are lots of summers when we don't even see 30C and if we do it's only for a day or two. This year is exceptional, we have had heat wave warnings out for weeks. I have a theory - the spring was miserable cold and wet with frost right up to the end of June. My garden went in the latest ever and I thought it was doomed. I also put in an irrigation system. The weather gods took pity on me and said OK she has gone to all that trouble let's give her a hand and make it really hot to speed up the growing process. That's my theory. I am hoping it doesn't come to a crashing end with an early frost.
  8. Yesterday we had more heat warnings out, 39C but that doesn't mean you can't have the hot dinner your were craving when you have a KK. Done. Plated with beets greens. I need to stop picking those tops if I want the bottoms to grow into nice beets for Aussie's burgers.

  10. Alimac, beautful looking chicken dinner. Now you have some idea of the big taste you get from cooking on a KK.
  11. Tony, your deer story is similar to mine. I was rolling but the deer jumped out of the ditch hit my left front fender sort of rolled onto the hood and I saw it staring me in the face. It fell off the hood, landed on it's side and the 4 legs were kicking crazy, I wasn't getting out of the car. It managed to get onto it's feet and went back from where it came. I don't remember the $$ for the damage but it can happen in a split second and at high noon.
  12. alimac, your KK is stunning, beautiful pixs, and an awesome setup. Thanks for sharing the delivery experience. Just so you know, that pebble colour cooks just a little bit better than all other colours.
  13. @Tony, these are garlic chives, leaves are flat and about 3/8 wide and substantial.
  14. Did another sausage cook on the Konro tonight. Those little flowers are part of the blossoms on the garlic chives. This was the first of the beets greens for the season, delicious.

  17. As you can see I have quite a supply of hardwood and softwood. I had these for a barbque that burned wood but it gave up the ghost years ago. This spring I nearly threw this wood out as I didn't see a need for it except to light the stove in the sunroom. Thanks goodness I got lazy. Using these woods gives me more of a real campfire taste. The barrel of softwood- The hardwood, I will likely split the bigger pieces into two pieces. This is mostly maple but I do see a little birch in there.
  18. Yes, I used my MAPP torch, same one I use to light the lump in the KK and once I transfer the coals to the Konro I use my blower thru the draft door, on very low speed to help things along, works like a charm.

  21. Another little cook on the Konro, still using leftover lump from the first cook although I did add a few pieces of softwood, couple of hardwood and 2 new pieces of regular lump. Ready to torch the Solo Grill. Done. Plated with potato salad and Swiss chard.
