Anniversary cook

Recommended Posts

Wow. 9 years already. Anyway I thought I'd do a cook I have been wanting to try for a while- beef Wellington. I had been wanting to make one ever since I saw John setzlers video.  I also wanted to do something like profiteroles and my hubby saw some scallops on sale. And why not some brussel sprouts because we love them?  Rather than show the order I cooked everything in, I'm going to go by dish lol. Probably less confusing than how my brain thought about this cook. Got my prime tenderloinIMG_1582.thumb.JPG.dfe56dc986e3ae67fa385a33a26989f7.JPG

cut itIMG_1583.thumb.JPG.dfedeb2fba7deebb279d84aba71abc38.JPG

then seasoned the center cut with salt pepper and a little cayenneIMG_1586.thumb.JPG.2e2a0858f12ee79ba56b50fc31e18706.JPG

processed some shallots, garlic, thyme, and lots and lots of mushroomsIMG_1580.thumb.JPG.7029131d0d697272d48b9e6a6b37544c.JPG

should have prechoppes the mushrooms. By the time I finished they were really paste like- here is after cooking. And yeah I know it didn't look pretty but man it smelled good. IMG_1584.thumb.JPG.26efaa8ed43d966746817a517adbec01.JPG

then seared the steak. This picture is one side done, but trust me I seared all the sidesIMG_1588.thumb.JPG.28e6cc76f537aca4b154dc3233433a30.JPG

then I prepped the prociutto and mushrooms and smeared the tenderloin with some whole grain mustardIMG_1591.thumb.JPG.f6fc79502e627345a6767bb244be516f.JPG

wrappedIMG_1592.thumb.JPG.ccdb818eaccb481040024cd54a0ae1d2.JPG

then time for puff pastryIMG_1594.thumb.JPG.ecdaa8828ead509ad43fc503c96bfe39.JPG

and on to kokoIMG_1595.thumb.JPG.d19ba3ce2d60990c08cf28295c5cc566.JPG

this is what it looked like doneIMG_1597.thumb.JPG.5ab2a60b6fe9ece043448908f90e5146.JPG

i realized I didn't take any pictures of cooking the scallops or brussel sproutsIMG_1599.thumb.JPG.73cd4cc554ee9f31ec524a8428361e16.JPG

and I cut into the Wellington annnddddd

@shuley - first, I hope you and your husband had the happiest anniversary ever and I wish you and he many, many more years of wedded bliss.  Congrats to you both.

Secomd, this is a beautiful cook.  I'm certain it was tasty beyond measure.  Kudos on the cook and kudos on the anniversary.
