Stunning, now for the first cook.:) What shall it be? Waiting for those first cook pixs on your new KK.
-
Well, we will just have to remain patient.

That is going to be over the top exciting when you start that build. Wait now we haven't finish this years project, there is no pizza yet.

Very tasty eats, amusedtodeath.
-
Tasty looking.

Now you are in business.

Another roaring success, tekobo.

Yes, what ck, said, fill that lump basket right up.:)

I am looking forward to seeing a pix when you have the hardwood in the woodbin. That is going to push it over the top.:)

I know what you mean about the gas lasting forever, I've been using this tank for years, can't remember when I changed it last. If I ever run out I'm sure I could come up with some other way to light the grill especially if the stores were not open. Without a doubt I can get the KK going much faster.

Happy birthday to Hawke.

Awesome, it looks fantastic and there's my fire. That has got to be a relief.

Tasty looking pizzas. Yummy.

Good news, Bruce. More important to get that plumbing issue fixed.

Tony, I did the bacon at 400F for 6 mins. The most I've done is 2 pieces at a time. I suspect if you did a whole batch you might not want to use that temp. I bet it would smoke big time because a lot of fat drips off and into the bottom.

I hope you have a battery or ordered one it doesn't come with one or the charger. That is one of my favourite tools. I use it to clean off the counters in the ODK, a platform bird feeder and sometimes leaves off the deck.

No, Tony, I just barely heated it in the microwave.

The sous vide egg didn't take long because the Joule only require 1.5 inch of water minimum but then you need enough to cover the egg. I just put the water in a pot on the stove and brought it up to temp. almost then take it off the stove add Joule, set temp. 194F and time 8 mins and away you go. The coffee 149F for 2 hours, coarse grind, filter, and you will want to heat it up a little for drinking. It definitely had a caramel flavour to it and it was very smooth. Might make a better iced coffee. It was the same coffee that I use for my espresso but you would not recognize the flavour. I won't do this for a regular hot coffee as there are better and a lot faster ways to get coffee.

Made a pulled pork sandwich for lunch today. It sure is nice to have previous cook leftovers in the freezer. Now let's see if I can get it folded. Well that worked.:)
-
I did the coffee and I was very surprised by the taste. I used the same coffee as I use for espresso except that I changed the grind. It turned out to be very smooth and had what I thought was caramel flavour. Might be better for ice coffee.

99.9% of the time it is thru the grate and I have it set on low so I can keep the sparks under control. I have done it thru the vent but that is very likely to spray everything with ashes if not careful.

What excitement, I hope it goes super smoothly. Looking forward to seeing the first fire.

More time with the blower and less time with the torch means that I am prolonging the day the gas runs out. Which would be ok if I have a back up tank.
